COMPENSATION: $11.35/hr base wage + tips

New bartenders, those without cocktail experience or those transitioning from non-bartending roles will not be considered for this role.

ABOUT VERS Since July 2022, VERS has been redefining the queer bar: stylish, inclusive, and effortlessly fun. We pair inventive cocktails and refined bar bites in a beautifully designed space in Hell’s Kitchen.

THE ROLE & WHAT YOU'LL DO We’re looking for an experienced, hospitality-focused bartender with a background in upscale or craft cocktail environments. You are a reliable team player who thrives in a high-volume environment, delivering perfectly prepared, balanced drinks. You'll keep the energy positive, guiding customers through complex flavor profiles and fostering a welcoming atmosphere. You bring a vibrant, magnetic energy, possess a strong social network, and know how to actively drive crowds to the venue, turning first-time guests into fiercely loyal regulars.

• Craft & Serve: Execute our seasonal menus & classic cocktails with precision and speed for both bar patrons and table service.

• Operate & Organize: Handle cash/credit transactions accurately and utilize our POS system efficiently.

• Stock & Maintain: Manage inventory, minimize waste, and collaborate with bar support.

• Keep it Organized: Uphold strict, meticulous standards of cleanliness, food safety, and station organization.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• Required: Minimum 3+ years of bartending experience in a high-end, craft cocktail, or fine-dining establishment in NYC.

• A magnetic personality with a strong local social network and a proven ability to draw a crowd.

• A deep, working knowledge of classic cocktail ratios, premium spirits, modern mixology, and wine/beer basics.

• A track record of flawless execution under the pressure of a high-volume, upscale venue.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

• Ability to obtain/maintain any government-required licenses or permits.

• Physical capability to stand, walk, traverse stairs, bend for extended periods, and lift up to 40 lbs.

• Experience with the Square POS system preferred.
